Job Description

The Asbestos Abatement Technician will be responsible for the safe removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials from various environments. This role requires strict adherence to all safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and assessments for asbestos presence.
  • Develop and implement abatement strategies tailored to specific projects.
  • Safely operate abatement equipment, including HEPA vacuums and sprayers.
  • Ensure the safety of all personnel involved in abatement processes.
  • Properly handle, package, and dispose of hazardous materials.
  • Prepare reports for regulatory compliance and internal documentation.
  • Assist in training new technicians on proper abatement procedures.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional training in environmental science or safety preferred
Experience
  • Experience in hazardous material handling is a plus
