Job Description
We seek a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to manage avian species' daily care and monitoring. You will ensure their health and welfare while participating in conservation efforts and public education.
Responsibilities
Conduct health assessments and provide essential care for avian species.
Ensure consistent cleanliness of enclosures and surrounding areas.
Feed and prepare diets tailored to avian nutritional needs.
Record and report avian behavior and medical conditions.
Collaborate with the public to raise awareness regarding avian species.
Assist with educational programs, conveying important information about bird conservation.
Work alongside veterinarians for health evaluations and emergency interventions.
Enhance and design enriching environments for avian species.
Provide support to interns and volunteers during their tasks.
Contribute to continuous improvement in avian care methodologies.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Biology, or a related field
Certification in avian husbandry is a plus
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with avian species
