Job Description

We seek a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to manage avian species' daily care and monitoring. You will ensure their health and welfare while participating in conservation efforts and public education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments and provide essential care for avian species.
• Ensure consistent cleanliness of enclosures and surrounding areas.
• Feed and prepare diets tailored to avian nutritional needs.
• Record and report avian behavior and medical conditions.
• Collaborate with the public to raise awareness regarding avian species.
• Assist with educational programs, conveying important information about bird conservation.
• Work alongside veterinarians for health evaluations and emergency interventions.
• Enhance and design enriching environments for avian species.
• Provide support to interns and volunteers during their tasks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in avian care methodologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Biology, or a related field
• Certification in avian husbandry is a plus

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with avian species
