Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our team in Hartford, CT. The Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, analyzing risk factors, and determining coverage terms. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of underwriting principles.

Responsibilities

• Analyze applications and other documentation to determine insurability.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance underwriting accuracy.
• Prepare reports for management regarding risk assessments.
• Engage in continuous learning to keep up with industry standards.
• Manage a portfolio of accounts effectively.
• Provide customer support for inquiries related to underwriting decisions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
• Professional underwriting certification is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in insurance underwriting
