Forging Machine Setters, Operators, and Tenders, Metal and Plastic

Job Description

The Heavy Forger will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy forging machinery to produce metal parts for various industries. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in forging processes, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate forging machines to fabricate metal parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery.
• Analyze production data to optimize processes and increase efficiency.
• Assist in the development of new forging processes.
• Communicate with supervisors about production challenges and successes.
• Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure that all produced parts meet required specifications.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certificate in Metalworking or related field preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' experience operating and maintaining heavy forging machinery.

Technical Skills

• Heavy forging machinery operation
• Blueprint reading
• Quality assurance

Advantageous

• Experience with CNC machinery: Hands-on experience operating CNC machines is a plus.
• Knowledge of heat treatment processes: Understanding of how heat treatment affects metal properties.
• Welding experience: Familiarity with welding techniques for metal fabrication.
• Strong mathematical skills: Ability to perform calculations related to machining and forging processes.
