Job Description

As a Deputy Coroner Investigator, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Coroner Investigator in determining the cause and circumstances of deaths. This position involves conducting thorough investigations, collecting evidence, and compiling detailed reports. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with law enforcement and medical professionals are essential.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to death scenes and conduct thorough investigations.
• Engage with family and witnesses to gather information and insights.
• Analyze forensic evidence and collaborate with pathologists.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for case files.
• Ensure all investigations comply with legal standards and guidelines.
• Assist in developing training materials for newer investigators.
• Contribute to community outreach and public education efforts.
• Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for investigations.
• Utilize technology and software for data management.
• Support case reviews and quality assurance processes.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss findings.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in forensic investigations or related field
