Job Description

The University Police Officer plays a crucial role in creating a safe campus environment by patrolling the area, responding to emergencies, and enforcing laws. This position requires strong communication skills and a dedication to community service.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor campus activities and ensure compliance with university policies.
  • Respond to calls for service and investigate campus incidents.
  • Prepare and maintain reports regarding incidents, activities, and safety conditions.
  • Provide support and assistance to students during emergencies.
  • Educate the campus community about crime prevention strategies.
  • Work with other law enforcement agencies on investigations as needed.
  • Assist in training new officers and staff on protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to build trust within the university.
  • Utilize law enforcement databases and CAD systems effectively.
  • Engage in physical fitness training to maintain readiness.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a police academy program is preferred
Experience
  • At least 2 years of law enforcement experience is required.
