Job Description

As a Deaf Education Teacher, you'll be at the forefront of education for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Your role will involve developing tailored instructional plans, nurturing diverse learning styles, and employing innovative teaching methods to ensure all students thrive.

Responsibilities

• Create curriculum that meets the unique needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Collaborate with specialists, such as speech therapists and audiologists, for comprehensive student support.
• Implement strategies to foster inclusivity in all classroom activities.
• Develop assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives to enhance the educational experience for all students.
• Lead parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress and strategies for home support.
• Organize field trips and experiential learning opportunities to enrich the educational curriculum.
• Monitor classroom behavior and implement positive reinforcement strategies.
• Engage with the local deaf community to promote collaborative learning experiences.
• Maintain a safe classroom environment conducive to learning.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field preferred
