Job Description

As a Music Librarian at our organization, you will play a vital role in managing and organizing musical resources. This includes maintaining catalogs and ensuring that users have easy access to our extensive music collection. Your expertise will help in promoting and preserving a rich array of musical heritage.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the acquisition of new music materials and resources.
  • Regularly evaluate the music collection for relevance and quality.
  • Engage in outreach efforts to raise awareness of music collections.
  • Assist in developing programs aimed at promoting musical education.
  • Manage budgets related to collection development and resource management.
  • Conduct workshops to enhance the library's educational offerings in music.
  • Provide guidance on copyright and licensing for music materials.
  • Liaise with community organizations to foster partnerships and collaborations.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Library Science or Musicology
  • Certification in Music Librarianship preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a professional library setting focused on music.
