Job Description

As a Surveying and Mapping Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting surveyors in measuring, mapping, and recording land and structures. This position requires a hands-on approach, engaging in field surveys to gather accurate data for construction and engineering projects. You will also contribute to the preparation of survey maps and reports, essential for project planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support the surveying team in the field by assisting with equipment and setup.
  • Gather precise measurements and data on-site.
  • Contribute to the preparation of detailed survey plans and reports.
  • Keep site records organized and up-to-date.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects.
  • Assist in training new technicians and interns.
  • Help develop and implement process improvements.
  • Actively engage in problem-solving during fieldwork.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed during surveys.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant certification in surveying or related field is preferred
Experience
  • Experience as a surveying intern or apprentice is preferred

Advantageous
