Job Description

As a Metal-Refining Furnace Operator, you will be responsible for regulating the flow of gases during the Bessemer process. This position requires careful monitoring of process parameters to ensure optimal furnace operation and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Control the chemical reactions in the furnace by adjusting gas levels.
• Support the production team in achieving production targets.
• Evaluate and optimize operational processes for better efficiency.
• Provide feedback to management on equipment performance.
• Work with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and maintenance.
• Document incidents and recommend improvements.
• Contribute to team meetings with insights and updates on operations.

Requirements

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in steel production or heavy industry

Technical Skills

• Gas flow regulation
• Process troubleshooting

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with other types of furnaces: Familiarity with electric arc or induction furnaces is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety regulations: Understanding of OSHA and environmental regulations affecting production.
