As the Hatchery Manager, you will oversee all operations of our hatchery facility, ensuring the successful breeding and hatching of aquatic species. This position demands a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge of hatchery management and a strong understanding of aquaculture practices.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee hatchery staff and manage day-to-day operations.
  • Optimize breeding programs and enhance production efficiency.
  • Conduct regular assessments of water quality to ensure optimal hatching conditions.
  • Evaluate health of aquatic species and make necessary care adjustments.
  • Organize and participate in staff training and development programs.
  • Generate reports to track hatchery performance metrics and compliance.
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and research partners.
  • Ensure compliance with aquaculture regulations and best practices.
  • Participate in budgeting and financial management for hatchery operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the hatchery.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, or related field
  • Master's degree is a plus
  • Aquaculture Management Deep understanding of aquaculture management practices.
  • Water Quality Testing Proficient in water quality testing methods and equipment.
  • Leadership Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Communication Strong communicator, able to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Certified Aquaculture Technician
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • English (Fluent)
Advantageous
  • Budgeting experience: Experience with budgeting and financial aspects of hatchery management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance: Understanding of local and federal aquaculture regulations.
