Job Description

As a Reinforcing Iron and Rebar Worker, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing steel bars and mesh to reinforce concrete structures. This role is essential in ensuring the stability of various construction projects, including buildings and bridges, thus contributing significantly to the construction team's success.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Measure, cut, and shape reinforcing bars and mesh to required specifications.
• Secure reinforcing bars using welding, wire tying, or other fastening methods.
• Perform ongoing inspections to ensure the quality and safety of the work.
• Collaborate with project managers and fellow workers for smooth workflow.
• Perform metalworking tasks such as cutting, grinding, and finishing.
• Maintain detailed records of work done, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Train newer workers in safe and efficient methods of reinforcing work.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an apprenticeship in reinforcing metalwork is preferred

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in reinforcing metalwork or a related field.
