Job Description

We are in search of a Special Education Director who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs. This role entails the oversight of the special education department, with a focus on driving innovative strategies that ensure compliance with federal and state mandates while creating a nurturing environment for students.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee special education policies that enhance service delivery.
  • Lead and mentor special education staff, promoting professional growth.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to align on educational strategies for students.
  • Ensure adherence to legal responsibilities regarding special education.
  • Assess and report on student performance, implementing new strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to facilitate additional support services.
  • Provide professional development for educators on inclusive practices.
  • Keep thorough documentation of all special education activities and compliance.
  • Research and integrate evidence-based practices into programming.
  • Manage the budget for special education services, ensuring effective allocation of resources.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid state teaching certification
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in special education, including administrative roles.
