Job Description

We are seeking a Bridge and Lock Tender who will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of bridge equipment. The successful candidate will ensure the effective management of vehicular and pedestrian traffic across our vital infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections of bridge infrastructure for safety compliance.
• Maintain effective communication with traffic control.
• Troubleshoot bridge mechanical systems and address maintenance needs promptly.
• Document all operational activities and incidents.
• Educate the public on bridge safety and regulations.
• Coordinate with various departments to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in bridge operation or related field

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of bridge equipment and controls
• Communication skills

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Ability to work under pressure

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in bridge operation or related field: Certification demonstrates proficiency in bridge operations.
• Experience in emergency response situations: Experience dealing with emergencies relevant to bridge operations.
