Job Description

As a Blood Bank Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of blood products for transfusion. This position requires a meticulous approach to testing and processing blood samples, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to the Medical Laboratory Technologists as needed.
• Manage donor and patient sample tracking and documentation.
• Perform troubleshooting of lab equipment as necessary.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician is preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience specifically in blood banking

Technical Skills

• Automated Blood Banking Systems
• Quality Control Knowledge

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP): Preferred certification for enhanced qualifications.
• Prior experience in hospital settings: Experience working within a hospital laboratory is a plus.
