Job Description

As the Grip Boss, you will lead the grip department, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and rigging for various film and television productions. Your expertise will be vital in coordinating with other departments to achieve desired visual effects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the grip team in the installation and removal of complex equipment.
• Conduct thorough safety inspections of all rigging and grip setups.
• Develop project timelines and ensure adherence to production schedules.
• Maintain a tidy work environment, emphasizing safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with lighting and sound teams to ensure cohesive production efforts.
• Assist with the procurement of necessary supplies and equipment as required.
• Foster a supportive environment for new team members and interns.
• Create documentation for best practices and safety protocols.
• Participate in post-production reviews to assess performance and suggest improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Associate's degree in Film Production or related field
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a production role, with specific focus on grip work.

Technical Skills

• Technical Drawing Interpretation

Certifications

• CPR and First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in VR/AR Production: Familiarity with virtual and augmented reality production technologies.
