Construction Laborer

Job Description

As an Asphalt Tamper, your primary role will be to operate heavy machinery to compact asphalt effectively. You will also ensure quality control by measuring density and making necessary adjustments to the asphalt mix. Experience in the construction field is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Master the operation of the asphalt tamper and related machinery.
• Monitor asphalt quality, density, and compaction levels.
• Help in maintaining equipment and reporting any issues.
• Support paving crew efforts and assist with manual labor as needed.
• Adhere strictly to safety and environmental policies.
• Engage in team discussions and provide feedback on processes.
• Continuously develop skills through on-the-job training.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in asphalt paving or pavement maintenance is a plus

• Equipment Maintenance

Certifications

• Asphalt Paving Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Ability to operate other heavy equipment: Experience with excavators, graders, or rollers is a plus.
• Prior experience in a construction environment: Experience working on construction sites and understanding protocol.
