Underground Mining Machine Operator (Duck Operator)

Job Description

As an Underground Mining Machine Operator, also referred to as a Duck Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production process of rubber ducks. Your responsibilities include operating and maintaining specialized machinery, ensuring that production runs smoothly while adhering to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up machinery for production runs of rubber ducks.
• Perform quality control checks on in-process and finished products.
• Document and report any issues impacting production.
• Work with cross-functional teams for production planning.
• Provide feedback on process challenges to management.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Assist with the development of SOPs for machine operation.
• Stay up-to-date with new technology and best practices.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Prior experience in rubber or plastics machinery operation is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Quality assurance experience
• Familiarity with production metrics

Soft Skills

• Critical thinking
• Conflict resolution

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Machinery maintenance experience: Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting machinery.
