We are on the lookout for a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Baltimore office. In this position, you will evaluate insurance applications and determine coverage amounts and premiums. A commitment to delivering high-quality service and thorough assessments of risk is crucial to this role.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications and determine eligibility.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend coverage limits.
• Work with internal teams to streamline the underwriting process.
• Review policy documentation for compliance with regulations.
• Engage with clients to clearly explain policy options and procedures.
• Monitor industry best practices to enhance underwriting strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of underwriting activities.
• Assist in training junior underwriters on best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting or risk analysis

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software
• Regulatory Knowledge

• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (ACU)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Reinsurance Principles: Understanding of reinsurance and its role in risk management.
• Experience with Statistical Analysis Tools: Familiarity with tools for analyzing and interpreting data related to claims.
