Building Dismantler

Job Description

As a Building Dismantler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient dismantling of structures while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Your role will also involve the removal of hazardous materials and sorting recyclable materials.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and remove various building structures, including walls, roofs, and floors, using hand and power tools.
• Assist with site preparation and cleanup before and after demolition.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Coordinate tasks with team members and supervisors for efficient workflow.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in demolition or related field

Technical Skills

• Hazardous material handling
• Blueprint reading

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Certified Heavy Equipment Operator
• LEED Green Associate (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with demolition project management software: Experience with software used to manage demolition projects effectively.
• Hands-on training in asbestos and lead removal: Specific training related to the safe removal of hazardous materials.
