Job Description

Our team at Veterinary Care Associates is seeking a compassionate and skilled veterinarian to join us in Portland. In this role, you will provide high-quality medical care to a diverse range of animals, collaborate with a dedicated team, and engage with pet owners to ensure the best outcomes for their pets.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care and surgical services for pets.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and interpret results to inform treatment.
• Administer anesthetics and monitor patients during procedures.
• Build lasting relationships with clients through exceptional service.
• Train and mentor junior staff and interns in veterinary practices.
• Keep abreast of industry developments and best practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the clinic.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to clinic operations.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Veterinary license in Oregon strongly preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a clinical veterinary setting preferred

Certifications

• Veterinary Orthopedic Certification
• Advanced Anesthesia Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of holistic pet care: Familiarity with holistic and alternative veterinary practices is a plus.
• Experience with emergency procedures: Prior experience in emergency veterinary medicine is advantageous.
