Job Description

As a Legislative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our legislative team. This position requires someone who can efficiently handle administrative tasks, conduct thorough research on relevant issues, and assist in drafting proposals. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness of our legislative processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate schedules and provide logistical support for meetings and events.
  • Assist in the development of policy papers and advocacy materials.
  • Draft and edit legislative documents, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Compile and summarize legislative research findings.
  • Build relationships with state and federal officials to support legislative efforts.
  • Manage office communications and maintain an organized filing system.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow and project outcomes.
  • Prepare summaries of legislative sessions and advise on implications for the organization.
  • Monitor legislative news and updates to keep the team informed.
  • Support outreach efforts to engage the public on key issues.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Public Policy or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in policy research or legislative support
