Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Transit and Railroad Police officer to join our team in Chicago. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring train movements, inspecting tracks and crossings, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to public safety.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and evaluate the condition of tracks and signaling equipment.
  • Coordinate with transportation staff to ensure timely responses to safety compliance issues.
  • Maintain communication logs and inspection reports.
  • Provide assistance in training new personnel on safety regulations.
  • Develop relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Assess and respond to any safety-related concerns raised by the public or staff.
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal safety regulations.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote railroad safety.
  • Assist with safety drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections after incidents to assess and ensure safety protocols are reinforced.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant certifications in safety or security preferred
Experience
  • Experience as a Railroad Watchman or similar security role is advantageous

Languages
