Job Description

As a Bailiff, you will play a crucial role in maintaining order within the courtroom. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety of judicial staff, jurors, and the general public. This position requires a keen sense of responsibility and excellent interpersonal skills to manage potentially volatile situations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor courtroom activities and maintain decorum at all times.
  • Facilitate the smooth operation of court events.
  • Conduct thorough screenings of attendees for security compliance.
  • Assist judges in managing courtroom discussions and activities.
  • Provide emergency response and first aid when necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with law enforcement and other court employees.
  • Implement security drills and training for new bailiffs.
  • Develop and review security policies and procedures regularly.
  • Educate court attendees on security protocols to ensure compliance.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional training in conflict management or crisis intervention
Experience
  • Prior experience in a courtroom security role is advantageous.
