Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Aviculturist to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the care and breeding of birds in captivity, helping to develop and implement effective breeding programs while ensuring the health and welfare of our bird populations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily care routines for all bird species in the facility.
  • Develop training materials and programs for staff regarding bird welfare.
  • Conduct regular health checks and document findings.
  • Work closely with the breeding team to track breeding success and adjust programs as necessary.
  • Implement innovative approaches to promote avian health and enrichment.
  • Provide support in compliance audits and reporting related to animal welfare.
  • Engage with suppliers for sourcing food and materials necessary for bird care.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field
  • Master's degree in Avian Science is a plus
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Aviculturist
