Job Description

The Exhibit Preparator will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and removal of exhibition materials including artworks, graphics, and multimedia displays. You will be a key player in bringing art to life, ensuring each exhibit resonates with visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to conceptualize and design exhibits.
  • Install multimedia installations and ensure they are functional.
  • Manage timelines effectively to meet installation deadlines.
  • Support artist talks, workshops, and educational programming related to exhibitions.
  • Document installation processes and maintain detailed records.
  • Participate in training sessions on art handling and conservation techniques.
  • Assist in promoting events and exhibitions through social media and outreach.
  • Foster relationships with local artists, collectors, and community members.
  • Facilitate feedback sessions with visitors to improve future exhibitions.
  • Research new techniques and trends in exhibit preparation and art handling.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Museum Studies or a related field is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in exhibit design and installation
