Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Drug Department Worker to join our dedicated team. This role is critical in managing and dispensing medications, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring that all operations comply with legal and ethical standards. The ideal candidate will be passionate about healthcare and committed to improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective dispensing of medications to patients.
  • Ensure that medication storage areas are properly maintained.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of pharmacy procedures.
  • Educate patients on the proper use and potential side effects of medications.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare staff.
  • Assist with inventory control by monitoring stock levels.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information.
  • Participate in pharmacy meetings and committees as needed.
  • Respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and care.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • State licensure as a pharmacy technician
Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in a pharmacy or drug department setting
