Rack Puncher

Job Description

As a Rack Puncher, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing server racks within a dynamic data center environment. We seek individuals with strong technical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot server racks and related hardware.
• Perform installations and de-installations of server components as needed.
• Identify potential problems with hardware and resolve them proactively.
• Keep detailed logs of maintenance and repairs performed on racks.
• Ensure effective cable management within the data center.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff on larger projects.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines and protocols.
• Aid in the implementation of new technologies and rollouts.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the data center.
• Stay updated on new tools, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Associate degree in Information Technology or related field
• Bachelor's degree is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in data center roles

Technical Skills

• Server Rack Installation
• Troubleshooting Tools Usage

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
• ITIL Foundation Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with environmental monitoring systems: Familiarity with tools and processes to manage and monitor environmental conditions in data centers.
• Experience in project management: Ability to lead small teams on installation and maintenance projects.
