Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher specializing in Deaf Education, you will play a pivotal role in the academic and social development of students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You will create inclusive lesson plans, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and foster a safe learning environment tailored to individual student needs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute educational programs that cater specifically to the needs of deaf learners.
  • Work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure effective communication regarding their child's progress.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student.
  • Monitor student performance and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Participate in training and professional development workshops focusing on deaf education.
  • Foster an environment that encourages student collaboration and social interaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state education regulations.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Special Education or Deaf Education
  • Teaching certification in Deaf Education is required
Experience
  • At least 3 years of specialized experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
