Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher for middle school students with moderate intellectual disabilities, you will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Your role is to provide academic and social support while collaborating closely with parents and other educators.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with related service providers, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists.
  • Adapt instructional materials and assessments to fit the needs of students.
  • Guide students in the development of self-advocacy and communication skills.
  • Support students in transitioning to high school and post-secondary opportunities.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and community outreach programs.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Special Education is a plus
Experience
  • 1+ years of experience at the middle school level
