Job Description

As a Forensic Psychiatrist, you'll provide critical evaluations and treatment for individuals engaged in legal cases. Collaborate with attorneys, law enforcement, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive mental health services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform forensic assessments to determine competency to stand trial.
  • Prepare detailed reports for court submissions based on evaluations.
  • Collaborate with legal professionals to understand case specifics.
  • Facilitate communication between mental health services and legal systems.
  • Stay current on legislation affecting mental health and forensic practice.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed for high-risk patients.
  • Advocate for clients' mental health needs within the legal framework.
  • Engage in training sessions on forensic standards and practices.

Requirements

Education
  • MD with a specialization in Psychiatry
  • Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in forensic psychiatric settings.
