Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the educational journey of kindergarten students with learning disabilities. You will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring that each student receives the support they need to excel academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities

  • Create lesson plans that are tailored to the learning needs of each student.
  • Assist students in developing social skills and coping strategies.
  • Keep records of student performance and development.
  • Implement behavior management strategies as necessary.
  • Serve as an advocate for students with learning disabilities.
  • Participate in school-wide activities and community events.
  • Explore and integrate assistive technology tools to enhance learning.
  • Engage with parents to discuss strategies for supporting learning at home.
  • Coordinate with support staff to effectively assist with student needs.
  • Encourage student independence and self-advocacy.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Special Education is preferred
Experience
  • Experience working in inclusive classroom settings is a plus.
