Responsibilities

• Navigate and operate all fishing vessel equipment.
• Retrieve and set nets accurately based on current conditions.
• Perform regular checks on safety gear and emergency equipment.
• Document all catches and ensure proper reporting.
• Assist in training new crew members on best practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization on the vessel.
• Engage with local regulations pertaining to fishing limits and practices.
• Contribute to team discussions on improving efficiency in fishing operations.
• Participate in the fish processing and storage post-catch.
• Support the captain in operational decisions and strategies.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in fishing or related maritime roles.

Certifications

• Valid Tuna Purse Seiner License
