Job Description
A Fire Captain leads and supervises a team of firefighters, managing fire prevention and emergency response efforts. You will ensure community safety, coordinate firefighting operations, and oversee fire prevention activities.
Responsibilities
Manage and lead a team of firefighters, providing guidance, training, and evaluation of performance.
Implement firefighting strategies and tactics during emergency situations.
Coordinate fire prevention activities, inspections, and enforcement of fire codes.
Maintain and operate firefighting equipment and vehicles.
Respond to emergency calls, assess situations, and direct firefighting operations.
Conduct fire investigations to determine causes and origins of fires.
Collaborate with other emergency services to ensure effective response.
Prepare and present reports on department activities, incidents, and training.
Participate in community outreach programs to educate the public on fire safety.
Stay updated on advancements in firefighting techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a recognized firefighter training program
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a firefighter, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
