Job Description

The Public Works Director will lead the planning, design, and construction of essential public facilities, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in managing public infrastructure projects, from roads to water supply systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of public facilities.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with external contractors and vendors.
  • Ensure quality control throughout all public works projects.
  • Administer grant applications for funding public works projects.
  • Develop training programs for staff development and safety.
  • Engage in continuous improvement processes for departmental operations.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators for public works initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
  • Master's degree is highly desirable
Experience
  • 10+ years in public works and infrastructure management, including significant leadership experience.
