Job Description

As a Surgical First Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting surgeons during various surgical procedures. Your duties include preparing the operating room, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring a sterile environment. This position is integral to providing patients with the best possible surgical care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist head surgeons during complex procedures.
  • Ensure the operating area is organized before, during, and after surgery.
  • Provide assistance in emergency situations where quick decisions are necessary.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other team members.
  • Participate in pre-surgery briefings and post-surgery debriefings.
  • Conduct research on surgical best practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Associate degree in surgical technology
  • Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a surgical environment
