Sterile Processing Technologist

Job Description

As a Sterile Processing Technologist, you will be responsible for the processing and sterilization of medical equipment used in surgical procedures. You will work closely with the surgical services team to ensure that all instruments are thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols will be critical in maintaining our standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of sterilization equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the sterile processing area.
• Perform routine maintenance on sterilizers and other processing equipment.
• Review and adjust sterilization parameters to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with other departments to address sterilization needs and challenges.

Requirements

Education

• Certification as a Sterile Processing Technologist (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in sterile processing or related field preferred

Technical Skills

• Experience with surgical instruments
• Knowledge of infection control

• Experience with surgical instrument repair and maintenance: Skills in repairing and maintaining surgical instruments for optimal performance.
