Job Description

As an Ophthalmic Medical Technologist at Healthcare Services Group, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists and eye surgeons with diagnostic procedures and treatments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in ophthalmic technologies and a passion for patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual tests and prepare patients for examinations.
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures as required.
  • Provide patient education on procedures and treatments related to eye care.
  • Manage ophthalmic equipment and maintain an organized clinic environment.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the medical record system.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients about the use of glasses, contacts, and post-operative care.
  • Conduct follow-up appointments for patients post-procedure.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to enhance skills.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited ophthalmic technician or technologist program
  • Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Technologist (COMT) preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ophthalmic clinical settings
