Job Description

As a Recreational Therapist / Therapeutic Riding Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities through equine-assisted activities. You'll lead horseback riding lessons, ensure safety, and develop innovative programs that cater to the diverse needs of our clients. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate therapeutic riding programs.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients during lessons.
  • Organize events and activities that promote community engagement and awareness.
  • Assist with the hiring and training of new staff and volunteers.
  • Participate in fundraising initiatives for the therapeutic riding program.
  • Conduct safety inspections of riding equipment and facilities regularly.
  • Encourage clients to set and achieve personal goals through riding activities.
  • Document progress and report findings to the Program Director.
  • Advocate for the therapeutic riding program within the broader community.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certification from a recognized therapeutic riding association (e.g., PATH Intl.) is a plus.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
