Job Description

As a Wildland Firefighter Specialist, you'll be on the front lines combating wildfires in our forests and natural landscapes. Your role will involve assessing fire risks, coordinating suppression efforts, and implementing critical preventive measures alongside a dedicated team. This position requires commitment, physical stamina, and the ability to work in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with environmental agencies to assess wildland areas.
  • Lead tactical operations during wildfire suppression.
  • Implement innovative techniques to minimize fire spread.
  • Conduct drills and simulation exercises with the team.
  • Engage in public education initiatives on fire management.
  • Support the development of fire prevention strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse teams in high-pressure situations.
  • Oversee the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Review and enhance safety and operational protocols regularly.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to fire risk management.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • 5+ years experience in wildland firefighting or related roles preferred.
