After School Instructor

Job Description

As an After School Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and implementing dynamic educational and recreational activities for students. This role includes supporting students with homework, leading engaging activities, and creating a safe, positive environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan age-appropriate educational and recreational activities
• Foster a love for learning and support students' academic growth
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress
• Mentor and support students in their personal development
• Create lesson plans and adapt them based on student needs
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized program space
• Monitor student behavior and implement positive behavior management techniques

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.

Experience

• Prior experience in an educational or recreational setting is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Educational software and apps (e.g., Khan Academy, Scratch)
• Time management

Soft Skills

• Creativity
• Team collaboration

Certifications

• Teaching certification (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Additional certifications: Certifications in specialized areas like art, music, or sports coaching are a plus.
