Job Description

As a Shellfish Dredge Operator, you'll take the wheel of our state-of-the-art dredging equipment, ensuring effective harvesting of oysters, clams, and other shellfish. This pivotal role requires a thorough understanding of marine operations and the various techniques used in shellfish harvesting. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of providing sustainable seafood while safeguarding marine habitats.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize GPS and sonar systems for accurate navigation and dredging.
  • Regularly communicate with the Harvesting Manager regarding operational updates.
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot machinery issues.
  • Assist in the development of innovative harvesting strategies.
  • Facilitate workshops educating team members on sustainable practices.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in shellfish harvesting or related field.
