Job Description

As a Laboratory Animal Care Veterinarian at our facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and welfare of laboratory animals used in research. You will be responsible for medical care, compliance with animal welfare regulations, and collaboration with research teams to develop animal care protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care and treatment to various laboratory animals.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state animal welfare regulations.
• Supervise and train junior staff in veterinary practices.
• Conduct routine health assessments and diagnostic tests.
• Collaborate with research scientists on study protocols.
• Maintain detailed records of animal health and treatment.
• Participate in institutional review processes for animal use.
• Advocate for ethical treatment and welfare of all animals.
• Monitor and optimize animal housing conditions.
• Engage in ongoing education and professional development.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
• Master's degree in Veterinary Science is a plus.

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years working with laboratory animal species.
