Job Description

As a Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor, you will be essential in helping inmates recover from addiction and mental health issues. You will conduct assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide counseling in high-stress environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess the psychological and emotional needs of inmates undergoing recovery.
• Develop recovery plans that include therapeutic and behavioral interventions.
• Coordinate services with external mental health and addiction specialists when required.
• Provide crisis intervention and stabilize acute situations as they arise.
• Advocate for inmates' needs within the correctional setting and beyond.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field
• Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work is a plus

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in substance abuse treatment
