Job Description

As an Animal Caretaker Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of an animal care facility, ensuring that all animals are cared for properly. Your role will involve supervising a dedicated team, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, and implementing animal welfare practices. You will play a crucial role in fostering a positive team environment while ensuring that animal care protocols are followed meticulously.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of animal caretakers to deliver high-quality animal care.
  • Ensure all animal care practices comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new staff on proper animal care techniques.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure availability for caretaking activities.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss challenges and improvements in animal care processes.
  • Evaluate animal health and report findings to veterinary staff.
  • Create schedules for animal care and ensure all routines are followed.
  • Collaborate with external partners for veterinary services as needed.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in animal care services is advantageous
Experience
  • Prior experience in animal care, with supervisory experience preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and basic medical treatments
