Job Description

A Wharf Tender is responsible for facilitating the safe and efficient loading and unloading of cargo at a wharf or dock. They ensure that vessels are securely moored, operate equipment, and monitor cargo movement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise loading and unloading operations, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure operational safety.
  • Manage inventory and maintain accurate records of cargo movement.
  • Train new employees on safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between dock staff and shipping companies.
  • Assist in emergency response drills and ensure preparedness.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in cargo operations or marine logistics preferred.
