Job Description

As an Underwriter in our Chicago office, you will assess and evaluate insurance applications, ensuring that all documentation meets our company standards. We require a proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities while providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret information from applicants to assess risks involved.
• Decide on coverage offerings based on analysis of overall insurance market trends.
• Collaborate with the sales team to provide quotes and policy options.
• Handle and resolve customer inquiries related to policies and coverage.
• Evaluate claims for adherence to underwriting standards.
• Participate in the ongoing development of underwriting strategies.
• Maintain knowledge of changes in the insurance market and adjust practices accordingly.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field
• Masters in Business Administration (MBA) a plus

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in insurance underwriting or a related area

Certifications

• Associate in Personal Insurance (API)
• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)

Languages

• English: Fluent
