Job Description

As a Naval Gunfire Liaison Officer, you will be the critical link between offshore naval assets and ground operations, ensuring effective coordination and execution of fire support during military missions. Your expertise will help in precise targeting and communication between ground forces and naval units.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice on the deployment of naval gunfire in support of ground forces.
  • Liaise with artillery units to synchronize fire support plans.
  • Analyze intelligence data to enhance targeting effectiveness.
  • Support the development of mission-critical fire support strategies.
  • Work alongside commanders to evaluate mission effectiveness post-operation.
  • Ensure compliance with military regulations and safety protocols.
  • Engage in continuous professional development related to naval operations.
  • Advocate for technological upgrades in naval fire support capabilities.
  • Prepare after-action reports documenting mission outcomes and lessons learned.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Military Science, Defense Studies, or a related field
  • Completion of the Naval Gunfire Liaison Officer course
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of active duty experience as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy or Marine Corps.
