Job Description

As a Hydrometeorological Technician, you will be essential in collecting and analyzing data related to weather and climate. You will collaborate with meteorologists and hydrologists, operate sophisticated monitoring equipment, and prepare reports that aid in environmental decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Gather vital hydrometeorological data from various sources.
  • Keep weather monitoring systems operational and calibrate instruments as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret collected data, providing insights on weather patterns.
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams for collaborative forecasting and public safety measures.
  • Prepare and present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in ongoing research projects related to climate change and resource management.
  • Develop and implement data collection protocols to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in the training of interns and new technicians.
  • Support administrative tasks related to project coordination.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Meteorology, or related fields
  • Master’s degree preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years in the field of hydrometeorology or significant related experience
