Forensic Pathologist

Job Description

As a Forensic Pathologist, you'll perform autopsies to determine the cause of death, analyze forensic evidence, and work closely with law enforcement. You'll also document findings and provide expert witness testimony in court, ensuring justice is served.

Responsibilities

• Conduct autopsies and necropsies with precision and detail.
• Analyze toxicology reports and other test results.
• Collaborate with law enforcement during investigations.
• Draft comprehensive autopsy reports for legal purposes.
• Serve as an expert witness during criminal trials.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards in forensic practice.
• Stay abreast of current forensic methodologies and technologies.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams in complex cases.
• Review autopsy protocols and improve procedural guidelines.
• Assist in teaching and training new forensic pathologists.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
• Completion of a residency in pathology
• Fellowship training in forensic pathology

Experience

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in forensic pathology
